Golden; Or, how I learned to stop complaining and love Jarrod Washburn

Is there any player that Tigers fans wanted to be reminded about less than Jarrod Washburn? Has there been any other significant move in Tigers history that has been such an unmitigated disaster? Then how, please tell me how, why someone like myself would be pleased to see, hear, or have anything in general to do with Jarrod Washburn? I'll give you one reason.

2009 Topps Gold #UH94 Jarrod Washburn (#0956/2009)

I like Topps Gold cards. I think that they are a parallel done right. They enhance the base card, are subtle yet substantial, have classy serial numbering and are not so rare to be impossible to get but not so common that chasing them down is a challenge. Topps Gold is good times.

Still, I don't like Topps Gold enough to showcase a Jarrod Washburn card. No sir. But I do when it's the last card I need to do this:

#34 Brandon Inge

#76 Marcus Thames

#85 Justin Verlander

#127 Cabrera/ Quentin/Rodriguez

#143 Matt Joyce

#176 Hamilton/ Morneau/Cabrera

#253 Edgar Renteria

#282 Chris Lambert RC

#320 Miguel Cabrera

#339 Jim Leyland

#342 Gerald Laird

#387 Adam Everett

#395 Magglio Ordonez

#425 Curtis Granderson

#434 Guillen/Cabrera

#451 Ryan Perry RC

#458 Jeremy Bonderman

#515 Gary Sheffield

#529 Fernando Rodney

#538 Carlos Guillen

#566 Dontrelle Willis

#599 Placido Polanco

#636 Armando Galarraga

#658 Rick Porcello RC

#UH49 Edwin Jackson

#UH53 Clete Thomas

#UH60 Brandon Inge

#UH70 Wilkin Ramirez RC
