Opening Day Lineup

The Opening Day Lineup was announced today:

CF Curtis Granderson
2B Placido Polanco
RF Magglio Ordoñez
1B Miguel Cabrera
DH Carlos Guillen
C Gerald Laird
3B Brandon Inge
SS Adam Everett
LF Josh Anderson
P Justin Verlander

There are two things of note:

1. Josh Anderson is starting in Left Field, pushing Guillen to DH
2. Curtis Granderson continues to leadoff, despite rumors that Anderson do so and move Granderson down in the order.

I'm interested to see where Marcus Thames ultimately fits in here, I'm hoping as a part time left-fielder and part-time DH, as this lineup is not so sharp below the 5 spot. I'm not sure that Anderson is suited for a full-time job, so we'll see how this plays out in the first few weeks. Still, there is help from the bench for late inning help, so its not all bad news.

Opening Day tomorrow! Rest of my 2006 vs. 2009 analysis forthcoming in multiple, rapid-fire posts!
